Here is this year's workshop lineup. If you are new to my workshops, please read my "About My Workshops" page. As you will see, we learn a lot and have a ton of fun!
June 5 - 7 • Workshop fee: $600
This is my "Rick's Backyard" workshop. We shoot at the New Croton Dam, on the Hudson River, in secret locations and at the largest Buddhist temple in the United States. Lots of Lightroom/Photoshop processing, too. Small group, big fun! Here are our shooting locations.
This event is a photo walk rather than a workshop. Basically, you show up and shoot with me and other talented photographers. I will be there there to help you make cool images. The photo here is from my previous event at this awesome shooting location.
Charleston, SC • August 18 - 22
Workshop fee $1,700. (Early bird 'till 5/1: $1,500)
This is a brand new workshop location for me. I'll be working with photographer Richard Ellis and the newly-formed Charleston Photo Workshops. We'll shoot at dawn and dusk at awesome locations, and I'll help you process your images.
Iceland Digital Photography Workshop
October 6 -16 (full/waiting list)
I'm only taking 10 photographers on this Iceland adventure, where we will photograph not only the ice, but the spectacular waterfalls and scenery . . . and night scenes. See my Iceland gallery for image ideas.
October 23 - 25 • Workshop fee: $600
This is my "Rick's Backyard" workshop. We shoot at the New Croton Dam, on the Hudson River, in secret locations and at the largest Buddhist temple in the United States. Lots of Lightroom/Photoshop processing, too. Here is a look at our shooting locations.
Want to find the best light on a workshop? Check out my latest app for your iPhone and iPad running iOS 6 or greater: Rick Sammon's Photo Sundial – the all-in-one app that gives you the sun, the stars, the moon - and much more. Never miss another sunrise or sunset again.
The app is great for on-site shooting, as well as for trip planning. Twenty-five photo tips, too!
Hey, if you find a better priced and more fully-featured sun-finder app, please let me know.
Here's a movie I made on photographing sunrises and sunsets.
I am planning some awesome workshops for 2015. Check 'em out!
