I'm off to Myanmar tomorrow for a personal photo shoot. Stay tuned for images.
In the above image: I often do magic tricks to get people to like - or at least to accept - me in foreign countries. That is what I am doing in this image, taken in the Royal Kingdom of Bhutan. It's my famous "4 Coins" trick. If you attend one of my seminars, bring 4 of the same coins. :-)
Sure, I am going to photograph the sites, but I am looking forward to photographing the people - which I feel is my specialty, even though I say "My specialty is not specializing."
A quick tip on people pictures: The camera looks both ways, in picturing the subject, you are also picturing a part of yourself. In other words, you are a mirror: the mood, feeling and emotion that you project will be reflected in your subject's face - and eyes.
I photographed this Buddhist monk in Cambodia.
Explore the light,
Rick
P.S. I am teaching Travel Photography at Photoshop World 2014 in Atlanta. I hope you can swing by. I am also teaching how to awaken the artistic within with plug-ins. Good fun for all!
