I've set the dates for the January/February 2015 Florida Digital Photography/Photoshop Workshops. You will receive personal attention on each workshop because you'll be in a small group.

You will learn a lot and have a ton of fun - while shooting in cool locations. I will also sit side-by-side with you and help you process your images.

South Beach Creative Photo Workshop • January 15 - 17
Highlights: Night, model, sunrise and sunset photography.

Digital Delray Photo Weekend • January 30 - February 1
Highlights: Shoot at Butterfly World, Wakodahatchee and at the beautiful Colony Hotel. Street shooting, too.

Key West Small Group Workshop • February 3 - 4
Highlights: Sunset, street, and HDR photography. Only four participants.

I am also giving private photography and Photoshop lessons while I am in the Delray Beach area: January 20 - 29. Shoot me an email for info.

I hope to see some of you in the Sunshine State.

All my 2015 digital photography/Photoshop workshops are listed here.

If you plan on mastering HDR, I recommend using Photomatix. Info on my Plug-ins page.

Can't make a live workshop? I also offer many on-line classes.

Key West, Florida: Shoot/Hangout with Rick: February 3-4, 2015

I'm running a cool, up-close and personal digital photography event in Key West, Florida - for only four photographers.

Here's the scoop:
• February 3 - 4, 2015.
• Only four photographers.
• Cost: $500 for the two on-location days and follow up critique session (see below).
• February 3:
– Mid-afternoon and sunset shoot. Key West is one of the best locations for sunset viewing in the country, and Mallory Square is wonderful for people photography.
– I can help you with reflectors, diffusers and fill-flash.
– Dinner (not included in cost) at a Cuban restaurant after our shoot to talk about photography.
• February 4:
– Bring your laptop to breakfast to review your best five photographs from our shoot.
– Early morning HDR/street shoot. I recommend Photomatix for your HDR processing.
– Lunch (not included) to talk about photography and your goals.
– Mid-afternoon street shoot.
– Back to Mallory Square for another sunset and people photography shoot.
• You make all your own travel arrangements.
Godfatherly Advice via Skype session included ($95 value): Three weeks after the shoot to see your progression.
• No charge for non-photographer spouse (as on all my workshops).

Attendees will receive an autographed copy of my book, Rick Sammon's Travel and Nature Photography.

Shoot me an email if you are interested in joining this event.

Announcing Digital Delray Imaging 2015

rsammon 1.jpg

I've been photographing in Delray Beach, Florida for more than 10 years – yet it is still one of my favorite workshop locations. I love photographing in the Historic Colony Beach Hotel, on the "Ave," at the beach, at nearby Butterfly World and at Wakadahatchee Wetlands.

I am returning to Delray in 2015 to run a Digital Imaging workshop: January 30 - Feb 1

The workshop fee is $600. We'll only have 10 students on each workshop - so everyone gets personal attention.

In Delray I'll be teaching HDR, low-light shooting, model photography, daylight fill-in flash - and processing images in Photoshop and Lightroom. I'll also teach Photomatix and Nik Plug-ins.

We'll have our end-of workshop group side show/critique at the Colony Hotel.

At Butterfly World, where I took many of the photographs for my butterfly book and butterfly apps, I'll be teaching close-up and macro photography and daylight fill-in flash, as well as natural light photography.

Our small group will  have the opportunity to photograph South Florida's most popular birds at Wakadahatchee Wetlands.

We are also working on a horse photography event for the group.

What's more, there are plenty of great places to eat in Delray. We'll continue the photo learning and fun at group dinners (optional).

I hope to see you in Delray!
